The project comprised of upgrading the existing workshops of the institute and constructing a new building that will be able to facilitate the increase in the number of students enrolling into the institute. In addition, 23 laboratories in the institute, under the categories of civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, were fitted with new, state of the art equipment to aid in developing technical training skills and knowledges to students in the industry.
By upgrading the infrastructure facilities of the vocational training institute in Sri Lanka, we can cater to the booming industries such as construction of economic infrastructure and private assets.
This project was backed by KIP International Projects GmbH Austria.
Existing workshops and 23 labs were upgraded.
Completed and handed over in December 2019.
