From the construction of several bridges and roads in the island, especially in rural communities, we have aided in the free and seamless movement of communities; connecting the larger cities with the smaller towns. The development of road and bridge infrastructure has enabled the reduction of travel time for the locals while also providing them with greater opportunities and access to the main cities.
The need arose as the non-existence of adequate infrastructure resulted in a physical and mental isolation of rural and estate communities from the developed cities of Sri Lanka.
828 bridges have been completed and handed over and 250 are currently being built.
490 bridges have been completed and handed over and 230 in the process of being built.
